OVER 30 YEARS OF COMBINED GAMING XP

We are a Finnish company born in the early years of mobile. Laura speaks five languages and acquired extensive experience on mobile from Supercell. She is highly specialized in fast-release mobile games for which she manages over 50 game translation projects, and is also a Board Member of the IGDA Game Localization SIG.

Our Founder Jani has been developing games for over 25 years. He is from Finland and started programming when the Finnish gaming industry was only a handful of passionate people. He has worked at big gaming studios such as Remedy, Housemarque and also Westwood studios and has recently launched his own mobile game: Utopos

Ilari is not old, he’s super young actually. But he has been running Housemarque for 22 years, quite an achievement! They pride themselves to be the oldest gaming company in Finland, as they were founded a few months before Remedy, and were pioneers in founding what is now a thriving industry of more than 2700 people. In this episode we chat about the early days of the Finnish gaming industry when there was only about 20 passionate young guys making Amiga games, about how Housemarque found its identity making incredible experiences for selected platforms and about the tough times as well (YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE TOUGH TALK!).
